Stuart Jamieson, Chief Executive Officer

Jamieson brings more than 14 years of product development and management experience to Cirrus. His knowledge covers a broad range of industries from defense to enterprise software to consumer markets. Jamieson began his career as scientific personal assistant to physicist Stephen Hawking. He developed image recognition systems for the Royal Air Force in the U.K., and developed and managed enterprise software at InfoAccess and Stellent in the U.S. In 2004, he co-founded AquaStasis, and as CEO directed the company's award-winning continuous test strip technology and ultimate sale to Virbac Corporation. As President of Slipstream Design, he has guided the growth of the company and the venture partnership with Cirrus BioSystems.

J. Preston Van Hooser, President and Chief Scientific Officer

Van Hooser is a well-respected University of Washington researcher and entrepreneur. He began his career at the University of Washington Department of Ophthalmology where his research efforts led to the restoration of sight in an animal model with a disorder that also affects humans. In 1995, Van Hooser founded SPCI Retina, Inc. a company that prepares and sells purified bovine retina, rod outer segments (ROS) and RPE microsomes for use in vision research worldwide. He joined the Department of Comparative Medicine in 2002 to serve as a Review Scientist representing the University of Washington and the National Institutes of Health for grant-sponsored research. In 2006, Van Hooser founded Cirrus BioSystems to develop and sell his patent-pending invention, the SPF Misting Station. Van Hooser has two patents filed and has been widely published in a variety of books and industry journals.
