Cirrus BioSystems was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in Seattle, WA. The brainchild of President and Chief Scientific Officer J. Preston Van Hooser, Cirrus BioSystems brings to life his vision of modernizing the research lab. Through the development of innovative tools and technologies, Cirrus BioSystems improves standard operating procedures in animal research.
As a long-time University of Washington researcher, Van Hooser brings years of hands-on lab experience to Cirrus BioSystems. He fully understands the challenges of working with lab animals in an SPF environment. He also adopted a keen appreciation of regulatory compliance issues while serving as Review Scientist for the Department of Comparative Medicine. This multi-faceted background gives Van Hooser a unique perspective on the lab environment. Cirrus BioSystems enables him to bring to life his vision: Developing solutions for the modern research lab that improve efficiency, increase ease of use and automation, and protect the well-being of lab animals while ensuring compliance.
